THE DUNG BEETLE

The Dung Beetles in my yard, I have a large dog, are the most vibrant and beautiful emerald green and brilliant purple metallic in color. They look as though they should be hanging from a golden chain instead of doing what they are doing. Nature does have a sense of humor.

I was looking at photos of Angkor Wat and these images struck me as the height of bling. This is a pencil study from a sketch book.

Here's a few words written by my mother in a book we prepared for our children so they might remember their grandparents and learn some things about them they might otherwise never have known. I even learned some things I didn't know. Goldie was special to me and to everyone who knew her.
